Difference between raw aluminum & regular aluminum?
Think of raw aluminum like a sunburn-prone guy at the beach with no sunscreen — totally exposed, no protection, and likely to get burned (or in this case, discolored or etched) the second something strong touches it. It hasn’t been coated, polished, or treated in any way, so it reacts quickly to acid-based cleaners like ours.
Regular aluminum, on the other hand, is the guy wearing a shirt, hat, SPF 50, and sitting under an umbrella. It’s been factory-coated or treated to handle the elements and a little cleaning aggression. You’ll find this type on most pontoons, trailers, and truck parts — and that’s the aluminum Acid Machine Clean loves to party with.
Moral of the story? If you’re not sure which type you’ve got, play it safe and treat it like raw. Spot test first, rinse quick, and don’t let it dry. Acid Machine Clean is tough, but you’ve still gotta use your noggin.
Will it leave my metals chalky white?
Not if used correctly! We always recommendspot testing first.
If the productturns white on contact, it's too strong —dilute before continuing.
Is it safe for wheels?
Acid cleaners are generally safe for factory-coated, painted, chrome, and powder-coated wheels when used correctly. However, caution should be used on polished or raw aluminum wheels, as the acid can etch or stain uncoated surfaces. Always apply the product to a cool surface, never let it dry, and rinse thoroughly after application. If you're unsure of the finish, it's best to spot test first. If the cleaner turns white on contact, it's too strong and should be diluted before continuing.
Common Sense Warning
🇺🇸 Common Sense Warning (Yeah, We Still Gotta Say It)
Acid Machine Clean is heavy-duty — the kind of stuff that eats up hard water, oxidation, and whatever’s growing on that aluminum you haven’t cleaned since Bush was in office. But even the strongest acid can’t burn through dumb.Don’t spray it in your eyes. Don’t wash your burger with it. And if you're not sure whether a surface can handle acid... test it first, genius. It’s made for trailers, pontoons, tractors, and the kind of grime elbow grease can't touch — not for your dog, your toddler, or your shiny new wheels without a spot test.
